Dr. Johnston, a proud native of Findlay, Ohio, grew up on his family’s 150+ year-old farm! He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Bowling State University and pursued his passion for podiatry at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.

After completing a three-year surgical residency with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in the vibrant city of New York, he honed his skills in rear foot surgery under the guidance of the renowned Dr. Jason Harrill, DPM and Scott Maling, DPM in  Mesa, AZ. Since 2013, Dr. Johnston has been making a difference as a podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon in the greater north west Ohio region.

In January 2023, he proudly launched Heel and Toe Podiatry, bringing top-notch, independently owned foot care to Perrysburg and northwest Ohio!

 

Outside of work, Dr. Johnston is a man of many talents—playing trumpet in big bands, capturing stunning photographs, crafting in carpentry, nurturing his garden, and indulging his passion for cars.

 

He met his wonderful wife, a talented shoe and handbag designer, during his residency in New York City, and together they returned to northwest Ohio in 2013 to practice and support the family farm. They are blessed with two young daughters and a lovable little dog named Brooks Johnston!

As of 2024 Dr. Johnston also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Ohio Foot and Ankle Medical Association representing the North West Ohio Region.
